DO YOU R-E-A-L-L-Y WANT CHANGE?
Have
you ever heard promises like this? Did you know some of them are actually
TRUE? Are you looking for change? The question is, do you REALLY want
change? Let's
explore the honest answer to that question. As you consider the answer
through the lens of reality, you may be surprised! Then look at SEVEN STEPS below to begin the process of implementing the change you seek!
Even
if you are living a 'happy' life, if someone were to ask you if you would like
to make your life better, many of you would say, "Yes! Of
course!" I mean, who WOULDN'T want to make their life better? But
when we examine human nature a little more closely, we find that, although
people generally do wish for a better life, they are not typically willing to
make the personal changes necessary to create the change they desire!
If
only THEY could stay the same and keep doing the same things they are accustomed
to doing while their lives change for the better all around them! That would be
perfect! You know what we call that right?
INSANITY!
Yes! How many times have you heard the expression that the definition of insanity is doing the same things
over and over again and expecting a different result? Yet even though
we all know this intellectually, we still tend to wish change would come
without it being necessary for us to change! Wouldn't it be great if we
could loose weight just because we are thinking about losing weight, even while
we're eating everything that's not nailed down and sit all day for a living,
never going to the gym? Jim Rohn said, "You
can't have someone else do your push ups for you!" You have to
make the changes necessary in your routine, in your exercise and eating habits
if you want to see the changes you seek. No one else can do that for you!
Even
in business, it's easy to psych yourself into believing that you are doing
everything you need to do to grow, just because you're THINKING about it all
the time! You go to seminars, but nothing ever changes, and you think,
"Man, all this training isn't really working!" Yet, you're thinking
about the training you received all the time! But thinking is NOT doing,
and it's easy to fool yourself into believing that just because you're thinking
about making changes all the time, you're doing it. Truth is, you must actually
implement the things you learn to reap a result! I went to a James
Malinchak seminar and is phrase for the 3 days was, "Don't
just learn stuff ... Implement!" An acronym used at this seminar was G.S.D.F. (Get Stuff Done Fast).
You have to be willing to make the changes in yourself
that are necessary to effect the changes say you want in your life. Jim
Rohn said, "If
you will change, everything will change for you"
He said, "You
cannot change the circumstances, the seasons or the wind, but you can change
yourself." Jim Rohn
So, did you recognized yourself in any of this? If so, you may need to ... CHANGE!
Here are seven things you
can do today that will set you on the pathway to change:
1. Identify the change you
would like to see
2. Take stock of what changes YOU would have to make to see the results you seek.
3 Start the process of creating new habits, new rituals, new ways of
thinking that will begin creating
the change you want in your life.
